The Artist behind the artwork
Murtadha AbdulKhaliq Al Lawati is an Omani artist born in the old town of Muttrah in 1970. He was one of the very first Omanis who contributed to the contemporary art scene in the Sultanate, and has taken part in various local and international exhibitions.
The artist specialises in contemporary and Arabic calligraphy as he has a unique style in adopting the Arabic letters. Murtadha’s inspiration comes from the local Omani surrounding of traditional culture and environment that he grew up in, which translates on to most of his art pieces.
